October 2021 Newsletter

With the holiday season commenced, we would like to emphasize some opportunities for you to participate in. We are participating with various other organizations as part of a Diwali Food Drive, so reach out to us by Nov. 15 with donations or inquiries in order to support Chicagoland food pantries. Additionally, we will be collaborating with Sant Nirankari Mission Chicago for a toy and coat drive to support Marie Wilkinson Food Pantry. We hope that you feel motivated by the various holidays during this time, and we hope that you make a positive impact on others.

During the month of October, we:

  • Arranged for weekly dinners and donations for Hesed House

  • Distributed goods from Panera to senior centers and homeless shelters

  • Assisted seniors and families in need with their errands and other necessities

  • Held a successful diya sale through the Youth Team

  • "Adopted" in-need families for Thanksgiving and Christmas in order to provide them with Thanksgiving dinners and other necessities

  • Organized a successful Diwali fundraiser Festive Shopping Event with about 25 vendors and more than 1000 people visiting the event for their holiday shopping needs and with funds raised we were able to provide Diwali meals to various homeless shelters in Chicagoland and arrange for weekly meal services in India

  • The youth team participated in an Aids Walk/Run at Soldier Field in Chicago

  • KS Foundation received an award for Extraordinary Leadership and Service to the Community.

Donate A Bhojan #FeedBharat We would like to highlight that we have partnered with Bhojan to provide weekly meals in India's low-income areas. As a group with many of its members having roots based in India, we mustn't overlook the struggles countless face due to poverty and poor infrastructure back in the motherland. We are grateful for this opportunity to make an impact in India, and we hope to continue to expand our presence there. If anyone needs more details about this program, please feel to reach out to us.
